Norton 360 is an all-in-one security program that protects devices against viruses, malware, spyware, and phishing attempts.
Not only does 360 feature advanced security features, it comes with a Virtual Private Network (VPN) that allows users to obfuscate their IP address for safer browsing. The software also comes with an intelligent password manager that protects sensitive financial, personal, and health-related online accounts.
Aside from these enhanced features, Norton 360 also provides new ways for users to automatically back up PC data onto the Cloud. Users can pre-configure daily, weekly, or manual backups to the could in order to avoid unfortunate data loss.
Norton 360 is a paid program that's offered in several different tiers. The standard plan includes security for one device, cloud backup up to 10 gigabytes, password management, smart firewall configurations, and virus protection.
More expensive plans include security for a larger number of devices, parental control, and more intuitive virus protection systems. All plans come with the patented SafeCam control and a secure VPN.
Customers appreciate that the plan comes with 24/7 customer support and a complete refund upon any virus-caused failure. Potential users should be aware that the Parental Control features don't function on Mac devices.
Compared to other security softwares, Norton 360 is much more robust and provides safety assurances on multiple fronts. Norton protects your sensitive data, passwords, and internet use.

The antivirus on your computer has become one of the most essential elements of your digital security because without it, a hacker can easily slip past your computer's defenses and infect you with a Trojan, virus, malware or worm. That's why installing an antivirus system on your computer has become one of the most important things that you can do, and you can find many of these software systems for free. For example, Norton 360 is one of the programs to offer free software.
Protection for All Devices
With the basic Norton Antivirus, you can only protect your Windows devices, but Symantac Norton Security as the Deluxe package offers you protection for your Android, macOS, Windows and iOS devices. For a Windows user, this adds the essential firewalls for protection, but bothers you with obnoxious popups.
The Complete Security and Performance Solution
With Norton 360, the software delivers on every promise that it should, but we can't necessarily say that Norton 360 is perfection, nor does the design work for everyone, but for those whom it does work with, it does a phenomenal job. You have excellent features built into the system, and you have wireless security tools to help. The user experience feels much better than either McAfee Total Protection or Windows Live OneCare. This system works much better than Norton Internet Security 2007 because it's lighter on the tools and the system resources so that it doesn't slow down your computer. In fact, everything has been integrated better, and you have a much better design than before.
How the Interface Looks
We like Norton 360 because the interface looks both intuitive and clean. You have an intuitive and no-nonsense setup, and the toolbar sits over the top to scan the sites you might click on. This is important because sometimes the sites you're visiting might be known for viruses. You will see the rating for how the site has scored in terms of security. Some of the key modules in this include Transaction Security, PC Security, Backup and Recovery and PC Tuneup. Each module displays a color-coded status, and you have a brief explanation.
Features
In terms of features, Norton 360 looked at the old Norton Internet Security, Norton Antivirus, Norton Confidential, Norton SystemWorks and Symantec, and they returned to the drawing board. The new design lets us see a complete renewal from the ground up. As a result, Norton 360 feels far more fluid than ever before, and even the Symantec LiveUpdate, which occasionally felt clunky, has now been made more intuitive. Norton 360 also has tools to defragment the hard drive and clean the temporary files. It also takes care of the clutter. All in all, this is a great setup that can keep your system free of viruses.
Pros
- A new redesigning from the ground up.
- The old clunky feeling of the design has been fixed.
Cons
- Be careful about the ads because you can end up downloading more programs than you want.
Pros
- Multi-layered approach to defense
- Easy to navigate interface
- A host of protection tools to keep you safe
Cons
- Other antivirus programs had better scores
A lot of internet security companies provide entry-level antivirus programs. Norton 360 is Symantec's grand entrance into the antivirus field, and with it, you receive a solid product that keeps the viruses, malware, and malicious software away. While Norton Internet Security uses mostly a gray background, Norton 360 uses a white background and four large buttons have come to represent the four major product areas. On the security button, you will find all of the Internet Security features. Meanwhile, the button for Identity involves keeping your password safe, and it includes some management tools. Finally, Backup and Tuneup give the collection a nice finishing touch that distinguishes Norton 360 from Norton Internet Security.
As a whole, you have a better user interface than what you have with Norton Internet Security. The layout looks different from the settings page, and you have a bank of check boxes that you can toggle for used features. When you click these links, it digs into the more detailed and interesting configurations. With the new Tasks pane, you are given easy access to your more common tasks such as running backups, launching a scan, or using the tuneup tools to speed up your computer.
Along with those tools, Norton 360 includes a multi-layered approach to antivirus. At the core of its protection, you have useful defense tools like password management, phishing protection, blocking access to fraudulent websites, and family safety features. Tests that simply launch scans or note percentages of the samples detected are not always the most accurate. Norton believes in a whole product test. While Norton did pass the AV-Test Certification with an, "OK," they did not do as good with the latest AV-Comparatives test.
One of the interesting tests that Norton has undergone is known as the malware removal test. It is as real-world as it comes, and the antivirus gets installed on 12 systems plagued with malware and attempted to clean it up. This; however, was not easy, and it required Norton Bootable Recovery Tool and a Norton Power Eraser. Along with that, it took multiple hours with a remote session from tech support. After the beachheads of defense had been established, Norton 360 scored a respected 6.3 points in the test. Of all the products tested, only Bitdefender Total Security and AVG Internet Security scored higher.
Symantec has built a reputation for coverage over the entire process. It starts from that moment when the threat has first appeared on the system. Eliminating it at that first appearance becomes crucial because undoing the damage unleashed after can take more time and energy. When it came to malware, Norton scored 8.5 points, but AVG took first place and scored an impressive 9.4 points. Norton 360 gets the job done through antivirus, but the system could still be improved.
Pros
